Free Caller Registry: what it does and how to register

**The Free Caller Registry is a free, single form that sends your business phone numbers and details to Hiya, First Orion and TNS, the three analytics companies behind the major US wireless carriers.** It's a good first step for any legitimate business that makes calls. It doesn't guarantee your numbers won't be labeled, and it isn't a substitute for registering directly with each company or for fixing the calling habits that cause labels.

Who runs it

First Orion, Hiya and TNS launched FreeCallerRegistry.com together so businesses, nonprofits and other legitimate callers could register with all three analytics companies in one place. Each company uses the information to support your numbers' reputation with the carriers it serves:

How to register

  1. Go to freecallerregistry.com and choose to register.
  2. Add your numbers. You can enter numbers individually, or upload a file for larger lists.
  3. For each number, give the display name you expect customers to see.
  4. Choose the category that best describes your calls.
  5. Add your contact details, company name, address and website, your phone service provider, and roughly how many calls you make per month.
  6. Verify with the code sent to your email, then submit.

FAQ

Is the Free Caller Registry really free?

Yes. It's run by First Orion, Hiya and TNS, and there's no charge to register.

Does registering remove a "Spam Likely" label?

Not by itself. Registration is a positive signal to the analytics companies, but labels still depend on how people respond to your calls. If a number is already flagged, also request a review from the carrier's analytics provider.

How long does it take?

One provider's help article says to expect confirmation from each analytics company within about 3–5 days. There's no set timeline for labels to change.

Should I register directly with Hiya and First Orion too?

Yes, if you can. Dialpad's help center notes that analytics providers trust direct registration more than Free Caller Registry submissions.
