How to remove "Scam Likely" on T-Mobile
**To remove a "Scam Likely" label on T-Mobile, register your number for free with First Orion, the analytics company behind T-Mobile's labels, and report the mislabel through T-Mobile's Report Improperly Identified Calls page.** Register with the Free Caller Registry too, and fix whatever caused the label, or it's likely to come back.
Spam I Am doesn't remove labels. Only the carrier and its analytics provider can, after a review. We check what real T-Mobile phones are showing, so you know when the label is gone.
What T-Mobile's labels look like
- "Scam Likely": T-Mobile's network flags a call it believes is a likely scam. This labeling is on by default for all T-Mobile customers.
- "Potential Spam": T-Mobile's free Scam Shield also identifies potential spam and can send spam calls to voicemail.
Some T-Mobile customers won't see your call at all. Customers who turn on T-Mobile's free Scam Block won't have Scam Likely calls ring through.
It can affect calls to you, too. When a T-Mobile customer calls a number on T-Mobile's Scam Likely list, they hear an audible warning that the number is likely a scam. A flagged number can hurt customers calling you back, not just your outbound calls.
Before you start
- Confirm it's T-Mobile. Ask which carrier the person uses, and what the label said exactly, or run a check to see what a real T-Mobile phone shows. Metro by T-Mobile customers also get Scam Likely labels. On Android phones using Google's Phone app, people may see "Suspected spam caller" instead, which comes from the phone, not T-Mobile.
- Collect a few example calls: the number you called, the date and the time.
Step 1: Fix what caused the label
First Orion says calls from a number that's invalid or not assigned to the caller are more likely to be flagged. So are prerecorded messages used for prospecting, because they tend to get reported. Other common causes:
- Bursts of high-volume, very short calls
- Calling people who don't expect you, or repeatedly after a hang-up
- Silence before an agent or AI voice picks up

Step 2: Register your number with First Orion
First Orion offers free Business Number Registration. It verifies your business credentials and gives you a path to fix mislabeled numbers. Sign up through First Orion's registration page. First Orion says the portal is free, with a paid API for companies managing large numbers of lines.
Step 3: Report the mislabel to T-Mobile
Use T-Mobile's Report Improperly Identified Calls page to tell T-Mobile your calls are being tagged incorrectly. Include your number, a few example calls (date, time, number called), and a short explanation of who you call and why.
Step 4: Register with the Free Caller Registry
The Free Caller Registry is a free, single form that sends your details to First Orion, Hiya and TNS, the analytics providers behind the major US carriers.
Step 5: Wait, then re-check
Run a check on T-Mobile every few days to see whether the label has cleared. Remediation commonly takes days to weeks. If the label persists, follow up through the First Orion portal and review your calling patterns.
What not to do
- Don't switch numbers as a workaround. New numbers with no history draw extra scrutiny, and the habits that caused the label will follow you.
- Don't use a number you aren't assigned. First Orion specifically says these are more likely to be flagged.
